Pricing

Baidu Translation offers three versions of its official API: Standard, Advanced, and Premium.

The Premium version requires enterprise certification and is not suitable for individual users, so this document does not cover the Premium version.

The Standard version allows for 50,000 free characters per month. After completing personal certification, you can switch to the Advanced version, which offers 1,000,000 free characters per month. Once the free quota is exhausted, the excess will be charged at 49 yuan per million characters, with the fees collected by Baidu Translation on its own Baidu Translation Open Platform, unrelated to the word translation service.

It is recommended to go to the Baidu Translation platform's My Services - General Text Translation to enable "Free Quota Usage Reminder." For example, if you have a free quota of 1,000,000 characters, you can set the reminder quantity to 900,000 characters. This way, when you consume 900,000 characters in a month, Baidu Translation will send you an SMS/email reminder. The "Vertical Domain Translation" (i.e., Baidu Translation Professional Version) does not have this reminder feature.

Baidu Translation is billed daily, and it is also recommended to recharge 1 yuan on the Baidu Translation Open Platform, then set up an SMS reminder when the balance falls below 1 yuan on the financial overview page. However, please note that daily billing means that regardless of how much usage occurs within a day, there will be no real-time reminders; reminders will only be sent at the end of the day (usually at 1 AM).

Application Steps

1. Open the Baidu Translation Open Platform and log in to your Baidu account. After successful login, click on "Management Console."
2. Select "Individual Developer" and fill out the form, then click "Next." After successful registration, you will be prompted to complete identity verification. If you want to use the free 1,000,000 characters of the Advanced version, certification is required.
3. After successful registration, open the Baidu Translation Open Platform Console, click the "Activate Now" button, select "General Translation (suitable for text translation)," and click "Next." Choose "Activate Standard Version," fill in the application name "Immersive Translation," and click "Submit Application." You will be notified of "Activation Successful."
4. Switch to the "Advanced Version," open the Baidu Translation Open Platform Console, and switch from the dropdown labeled "Standard Version" to the Advanced Version.
5. At the bottom of this Baidu Translation Open Platform Console page, there is "Application Information" that includes "APP ID" and "Key." Fill these into this extension.
