SaladictCan I Add Word Translations When Saving Words (Instead of Translating the Entire Context)?
Saladict's translation philosophy is "understanding words through context," following the Single Input/Output Principle. From Saladict's perspective, understanding word definitions without context is meaningless, so it doesn't support automatically retrieving all possible word definitions.
To obtain accurate word definitions, context analysis through Natural Language Processing (NLP) engines would be necessary. However, this technology is not yet mature and hasn't been implemented in the extension. Therefore, Saladict uses multiple machine translation engines to automatically translate the context, helping users compare and select appropriate meanings. Users can adjust translation engines in the settings.
